Service to the First-Year Writing Program at Cleveland State University
ENG 100/101 Assessment Revision I led a team of instructors in 2016 to re-develop our program's shared assessment evaluation process from a Pass/Fail reading of student papers to a Portfolio norming process.
ENG 099 Curricular Revision Working with a small group of other instructors during the academic year of 2016, we co-created an entirely new curriculum including a syllabus, course calendar, and reading list for our program's basic writing class, ENG 099
Development of Criterion for College Lecturers I developed a list of criterion for the assessment of college lecturers in 2016.
Textbook Editorial Committee Beginning in 2014, I worked to compile and edit two editions of our shared textbook, The Engaged Reader: Issues and Conversations in Composition. I also co-created additional supplemental materials to help instructors smoothly integrate the new reader into their classes.
First-Year Writing Program Adjunct Mentor Beginning in 2014, I co-created an adjunct mentor program which pairs six to eight part-time instructors with full-time college lecturers in the hopes of providing mentorship, materials, and advice. I currently mentor eight part-time instructors year round.
First-Year Writing Sub-Committee I was a member of the committee from 2012 to 2014. The committee assesses curricular and programmatic issues.
